Um, here in Phoenix, the buses use alternative fuels… so unless there’s some joke I’m not getting, this might not be a FAIL.
thats called phoenix bus service

What lubricates those machines? Could it be OIL?
You FAIL.
Our buses are electric, and have been since the 60s.
They are lubricated with horse grease.
“They are lubricated with horse grease.”
So is your mom.
Hahahahahahahh fuckn retard
no actually that was a pwn
I too ride the electric bus, but guess what our power plant runs on.
power plants still pollute less than gasoline/diesel engines.
And still need energy generated through…. da da da daaaaaaaa, coal and oil consumption.
In most cases, coal, not oil. Which are transported from the mine in coal-powered and electric (rarely diesel) powered trains.
What country are you in? Here in the States most long haul cargo trains are Diesel/Electric Hybrids.
coal… know your enery sources…
Buses around here run on natuaral gas, and could theoretically use synthetics as a lubricant.
Mmm, horse grease.
whenever someone asks me “how dumb can ya get?”
…i’ll show them this =D
bus here use normal gas.. or diesel what/ever
FAILLL
Yeah, and few buses use hydrogen here, but most of them use petrol.
“and could theoretically use synthetics as a lubricant.”
Possible, but not probable due to the cost. Many synthetics are synthesized from bitumen from the oil sands in Canada anyway.
Even if the buses run on normal gas, riding a bus will burn WAY less fuel than driving your own car. Not a fail at all.
true. and awesome.
agreed. possibly he says society wouldn’t need to pollute so much if for personal uses they don’t use cars intensively
lol, dont think too hard…
I think maybe he rides the “little bus”
I guess this asshat doesn’t need anything made of plastic either, (like the marker he used to make that sign) or anything shipped by truck, like FOOD AND CLOTHES. Nope, sorry, you fail bigtime.
Tard.
Slater……how do you think the electricity gets into the buses? Does the magic voltage pixie drop it in?
Or was the electricity generated in a conventional power station (er…probably).
Watch as celebrities ditch their petrol cars and buy up electric cars, even though it “costs” more carbon to make a car than it will ever burn in its lifetime. Oh….and transmission losses in power lines and transformers mean that about 3 x as much energy is lost than is actually used.
EPIC CIVILIZATION FAIL!!!!!
“even though it “costs” more carbon to make a car than it will ever burn in its lifetime”
Not true.
you all as bad as every other of these blog sites, everyone has their opinion, which is usually based on your own biased thoughts, get over yourselves, no one is going to give up their gas guzzling cars for anything until they are forced to. Face it, the guy is a moron, just like the animal rights freaks with leather shoes, and the tree huggers writing their protests on paper, just a bunch of hypocrites, everyone is to some degree or another. Even me and even you.
Fine. Nobody leave your houses ever again. Oh you may think you can just walk everywhere, but have you ever thought about how many calories you’re wasting? For every mile you walk you’re wasting an acre of grain’s worth in fat and nutrients, which could be used to feed starving nations. If you just lie in your bed and close your eyes you’ll barely need to eat at all.
WTF is “horse grease?”
Is that the stuff that accumulates in between their toes?
Here our bus system is lubricated with oil, but that alone is so insignificant that if you try and debate that point you’re either trolling or just terribly ignorant.
The bus system here has a network of electric lines, imagine bumper cars, they hook up with a rod to the cables that flow on the bus route, and those cables are powered by the HYDRO ELECTRIC DAM, which means that it also is powered by insignificant amounts of oil.
In response to Sofar’s point:
That problem lies within the meat industry, it is not necessary to use that much resources to eat and if you think that it is required why don’t you tell that to people all over the world who live off of small backyard crops of 50′x50′ land and go fishing weekly, but I guess you could argue that most people would not stop their American Life-Style (read: hedonism) if they were told it would be more beneficial, proof would be America’s current percentage of obesity.
Seriously people, instead of snappily judging people as stupid why not do the homework to see if it’s viable or not?
lol typical greeny there
all talk no brain
Anyone who takes a day of work or waste’s a sunny saterday to stand in the road to hold a poor’ly made sign fails at a whole new lv.

Diesel = Oil… FAIL x2
You can make biodiesel from Rapeseed (yes, they actually called it rapeseed, reep what you sow…
fail hippies fail at finding a cause worth fighting for.
Everything is made with or otherwise directly impacted by OIL. Buses that don’t run on oil based fuels still require lubricants and tires. Let’s not forget that it takes OIL to make the bus to begin with. Anything that is manufactured has an oil input. Even “synthetic oil” is made from crap out of the ground (tar sands, etc.). No oil equals no makeup, pesticides, plastic of any kind, shoes, synthetic fibers, electronics, machinery used for agriculture, etc. Without oil, the bus wouldn’t even exist.
It looks like a lot of people don’t understand their lives very well. What’s new?
Lol indeed xD
Slater(# 3), Is this why I can’t find any decent horse grease to cook with anymore? Fracking electric buses are using it all?
Leave it to the science nerds to ruin a perfectly good joke. Why can’t you just giggle to yourself and move onto the next one? Why the huge debate? FAIL.
hair + ass = me lol
you all fail.
Horse grease … *snigger*
its just a typo, it meant to say “I ride the bike”
buses where i live run on happiness and smiles
YES!
The book renting store is still better.
